I have been using them in mt Recteq RT-700 for about a year. I see no difference from the much more expensive Cookin’ Pellets brand that I use before. They work perfectly well and turn out the same great food.
Good luck, Costco is quite tight-lipped with all of their manufacturers. I've been trying to find out a legitimate answer to the source of the Kirkland Scotch. Hard to do, beside anecdotal answers on the interwebs.
The seem to be as good as the best available, but as with Costco branded items you can only guess who makes them. Given you don't know who makes them, the biggest issue is they aren't available year round. If you decide you love them, you better buy them to last the whole year. Otherwise, they are very good for the price.
I like the pellets, seem to be reasonable for burn time and ash creation. Best pricing I have found for pellets locally as well as on the web. Don't know who makes them or even if the ones I purchase up here in Canada are different from the ones available in the US.
Pretty much anything Costco sells under their Kirkland brand is going to be good stuff. Several of us here have been buying their Kirkland brand charcoal briquettes and been very pleased with them. I’ve found it to be just as good as Kingsford and a few folks have said they liked it better. Another example is their Kirkland brand laundry detergent. Consumer Reports gives it high marks. Only detergents from Tide and Persil have rated better than the Kirkland brand, and it only costs about 11 cents per load vs 2-3 times that cost of the others.
We tried a bottle of their branded Vodka, no sure. Cheap Vodka gives me an instant headache. It passed the headache test and tasted good with the tonic and lime. Great summer camping drink after being active all day.
Huskee They are the Smokehouse brand. I am assuming that is Sam's brand as I have not seen them anywhere else. They are $14 for a 40 LB bag. Great value and they do a good job.
I have been using Costco's Kirkland Pellets for a couple of years in my CC Woodwind. I get very little ash. Good burn rate. Great value for the money! I did a 10 hour chuck roast at 250 with a smoke setting of 10 recently and used around 8-9 pounds of pellets.
I have had 1 pellet jam in about 250 pounds of pellets (conservative estimate). They were Costco. Not a representative sampling mind you. Probably just a fluke.
