    Whaaaaaaaat? Those are awesome-looking!

Looks like giant charcoal briquettes, I wonder - I would expect they would give a fairly consistent burn, no?

You are going to need a huge pellet pooper for those pellets.

I don't know about these. The price was high, and if I was running an offset I might as well be running splits.

I'll keep running my B & B Briquets in my kettles and Pit Barrel.

What price did you find this stuff for Jerod, I found it at Academy Sports, 20 bucks for a 30lb bag which isn't bad for a lump charcoal. Then again if I were running an offset I would be using splits also.

Academy Sport should carry most of the B&B line of products.

Yep I found it on Academy Sports website and they supposedly carry at the store about 5 miles from me priced at 20 bucks for a 30lb bag which I think is a very good price. Thanks for the info!

DWCowles , I can shed some light here. I actually talked with Benny Machado from B&B this past Tuesday night and he said these would work well to "supplement" your stick burner. For instance, get a bed of coals going, then add a log and also a char-log and it will extend the interval you would normally have to add another log. He did not say it would be a good idea to use as the only fuel source, but instead, use in conjunction with the logs...make sense? He also said you can light up a chimney full of these and have grilling hot temps for close to an hour or so before you would need to reload.

Stick burner supplement does make some sense. I'm not a big stick burner guy so don't really have any interest.

What are these to be used in the place of lump, briquettes? My other question is the price, how much compared to the others? I might consider using them over lump because you know what you are getting versus lump which can really vary from bag to bag. Sounds like another way to make money on the part of B&B, offer a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

It looks to be a version of lump charcoal and sounds good according to the description. I don't know how the price where you are would compare to where I am but Academy Sports sells it for about 20 bucks for a 30lb bag in my area. I think I will be trying some of it.

Price isn't too bad, again I'd use it in place of lump, might get more bang for the buck. Let us know what you think.

I just got back from Academy Sports where I picked up the only 2 bags they had on the shelf. I will let you know how it works when I get a chance to try it.

I’m assuming there are no restrictions or regulations on using the word "competition" in any BBQ product? Probably not is my guess. Just a way to raise the price.

Everything and every company seems to have a gimmick or what ever and this is just probably one more of those gimmicky words to get you to buy their product. Although I must confess I like the Kingsford professional competition better than the original blue bag charcoal. Just my opinion of course.

I found out about the B&B char-logs from Malcom Reed on Instagram. He used them in a steak competition with his PK grill.

BBQCentralShow did Benny mention using them with a ceramic cooker?

vandy are you planning on testing some of them out with your Kamado? I’m interested on how they will perform with the Kamado.

DWCowles, he did not mention it in our conversation. He DID mention stick burners specifically though.

Has anyone been using these instead of briquettes? And Where can I get them from without being ripped off and pay $40 when standard price is $20 for a 30lb bag.

I use them in place of briquettes. They last much longer and are excellent. However like briquettes, they can be slower to start versus lump.

Fill a chimney to light, the same as you would briquettes?

Actually harder to get going then briquettes, but they are dense and last a long time. I don’t use it for hot and fast but excellent for long cooks.

Ditto on Ace as stated above by STEbbq . About 3 weeks ago I bought 2 bags. My BIL has found them at Academy Sports.
