ID:	945780 I halved the 13lb bird and cooked it in the Recteq at 325. Done in about 2.5 hrs. Put together a package for our son and family with one of the halves and all the fixings. They are in isolation because the kids were exposed to Covid at daycare. Been a week and nobody is sick so we’re hopeful. I set all the food outside the door and waved through the window. Bummer. And now I’m stuffed. 🙄

That photo is great. I'm sure your son and his family enjoyed that "cooked with love" Thanksgiving meal. The little girls are so cute!

My cornish game hens. Both ways came out great. The one's directly on the grate were seasoned with 2 lemon pepper dizzy pig and 2 cajun Mccormick. The one's in the pan seasoned with Mccormick garlic herb and cooked w/ chicken broth and white wine.

I really like being able to cook a few different ways for a single meal like that! One year we did a couple of small turkeys, one trad and the other using a Mexican spicing. Together, it was a real hit with the company.

Smoked turkey with lots of sides. The white castle slider stuffing was great.

Dry brined a fresh Butterball turkey breast overnight with Hank's KC Royale and then hit it with S&G as it went on the grill. Served with my wife's brandied cranberries and sweet potatoes with rum. I've also gotten into making green bean casserole from scratch and there was stuffing, too. Packaged up about half the food (and the BOGO second can of Reddi Whip) for our daughter to pick up.

Hope everyone is enjoying in whatever way possible, and here's to safe gatherings this time next year.

My son got diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes last week, but we are thankful he is doing well and we are all together. This is changing our eating habits a bit, so we have to dial back some of the Thanksgiving favorites. And there’s no rule against brisket!

Thankful for everyone on here for all the great food tips and friendly banter.

Ain’t nuttin wrong with brisket for Thanksgiving. Around these parts and our neighbors in Louisiana, Gumbo is big time for Christmas dinner. A change of pace is just fine.

I’ll eat Turkey for Thanksgiving, but I’ve had enough bad ones on Thanksgiving day that I shake it up when I prepare the meal. So, second year in a row for Prime Rib. Along with green bean casserole, taters and onions, and Hawaiian sweet rolls. Wife baked a dutch apple pie we somehow squeezed in after dinner.
