Thanks for all the great information and feedback.
I do not think I can go wrong with either, so I just need to make a decision. Oof.....i wish it was easy.
Weber Summit Kamado with SnS and Vortex.. Broil King Baron, Primo Oval Junior. Primo XL. Love grilling steaks, ribs, and chicken. Need to master smoked salmon. Absolutely love anything to do with baking bread. Favorite cool weather beer: Sam Adams Octoberfest Favorite warm weather beer: Yuengling Traditional Lager. All-time favorite drink: Single Malt Scotch
I love the Primo XL. Honestly though, after using both it an my Weber Summit, I would go with the Summit. Both are easy to use and control temps. The Primo does have th awesome two zone setup. I don’t use them enough to justify having them both. Well I would keep them both, but the wife is only allowing one of them on the deck. I hate having to go down to the yard to use the Weber. I probably will just keep them both, or maybe sell the Weber. I haven’t gotten a serious offer for the Primo yet. Someone tried to lowball me with an offer of $575! I told him to get lost! The stainless steel cabinet alone is worth that! Oh well.
I'm working on a grill overflow area adjacent to the outdoor kitchen so I won't have to make any difficult decisions like that. I bought my Primo for $500 with a SS cart, with all the accessories, and a DigiQ and fan. He even threw in a bunch of hardwood chunks AND warranteed the firebox when the crack in it expanded after I bought it. That guy was amazing. I hope his wife is okay he sold it because she had battled cancer and decided on grilled chicken instead of smoked red meat.
You got a really great deal then! That ensemble is worth way more than that. The guy I bought my Primo from showed me the original receipt for the purchase, and it was over $2600. I have seen the Primo XL for $1400 by itself
If I could somehow obtain a Primo XL in what appears to be a stainless steel cart for $500 I'd be crazy to not get it right? It might mean I'd have to kiss my SnS kettle good bye.
