I said I was gonna get one and, by golly, I did!
I found that Corbett’s Produce in Deep Gap, NC, only 1 hour away, sells SNS grills and accessories. Great little mom & pop shop owned by a young couple who are fifth generation farmers. It was a produce farm up until this couple took it over but now they raise beef cattle and sell their products in the store. The husband is the farmer and the wife manages the store. They carry several SNS products including the Deluxe Kettle.
I was a little disappointed the grills aren’t made here in NC, as shown by the white UPC sticker on the bottom right of the box. I really wanted to support the local economy. They sell the Deluxe models at the MSRP of $379. The covers run $40 so I was prepared to drop $419 + tax. I actually got the cover for free though.
Assembly went well. It took me about 1.5 hours total. Everything fit together nicely and the quality of the construction seems above average.
I’ll do a burn-in tomorrow morning and maybe try some ribs for dinner. As it turned out, the included cover was not the right one and looks like it fits a table-top grill. My SNS Odyssey has begun!
