Recently, someone posted a link for the PKO on amazon for a stupid low price. Being a major sufferer of MCS who thankfully has the means to make an indulgent purchase here and there, i couldnt resist.
Currently doing a chuckie on it which i injected last night with Oakridge gamechanger and seasonsed with McCormicks roasted garlic and herb. The final product will be pulled beef enchiladas.
I have to say, this thing runs like a dream. I thought it would be much harder to maintain somewhere between 250-275 but it was easy. Did about 2/3 chimney of fully lit kingsford on the far side of the charcoal basket and unlit to fill in the rest. With the top vent above the meat all the way open and the one under the coals about 2/3 open, it hummed away at ~265 no problem. I can see this thing being a very, very useful no frills smoker. I cant really see it replacing the kettle for birds because im thinking it might be a bit hard to get and maintain 350-400 indirect but overall very happy with the purchase.
Pics to come.
