Thermometer placement on a PK Grill

For Father's Day my wife got me a Tel-Tru thermometer for my PK Grill: https://www.pkgrills.com/the-pk-bbq-...er-by-tel-tru/. Where would you mount it? In their video they show it on the end of the grill but I know the PK360 has it on end of the front of the grill.

Part of me wants to put in on the front since it seems like a better place to actually see it.

Have any of you installed a thermometer on your PK? Where would you put it?

I take it you have the standard PK, not the 360? My 360 came with one and it is mounted in the front. Watching the video it seems it would be a problem in the front if you are using that extra rack as it clears the rack from the side, but would catch on it if mounted in the front. I would guess that the option is yours, just be mindful of the where the thermometer sits and where it will swing when opening the lid.

Yeah, I have an old regular PK.

Another issue with it being on the end is it needs to be in the hinged end because of where the handle is on the other end. I want the food to be by the thermometer and it would seem weird to have the food on the hinged end and not the open end.

JoeSousa As long as the probe doesn't interfere with your cooking surface or any accessories, I don't see how it would matter where you put it. Of course, as you say, the end where the handle is out. You just want it along the edge so you are getting grate temperature, not on top.
