For those wanting an American made, cast aluminum grill/smoker this may be a good option. I love my PK’s but am curious how these will compare.

PNWBrandon That's good, I hope they're adjustable from the outside, to be usable.
-
Agreed! It would be quite the missed opportunity if vents aren’t easily adjusted.

It does look great. But tailgating/camping only really limits its usefulness. It’d be nice to know when they plan to add a stand.

It looks like direct competition to the PKGO, however there's some stuff I'm concerned about. The PK lid with no hardware hinges will last forever (unless yah break it), this has multiple areas with bolts and I worry about the bolts corroding due to galvanic reaction, the handle being wood isn't gonna last the life of the grill either, but it looks like something you could easily make a replacement for even if the company doesn't last as long as their grill. Not sure about that bottom vent adjustment, looks like a burn waiting to happen if you're drinkin'
The price is a touch high but it looks like it is closer to the PK Original size or at least has a bit more cooking space than the PKGO if you ignore flipkit. I found this video of them cooking and I'm also concerned about the amount of ash and wood chips and such in the bottom collection pan (which I see in a few videos of this being used, but not listed for sale or recommended on their website). Regardless of all that, gonna keep my eyes on this and see if it evolves and maybe I'll jump in the ring and try one out or convince one of my friends to snag one if no one here has by that point.

Do it! I’d love to hear your thoughts!
I do completely agree one of the best things about the Original PK is the lack of hardware.Last edited by PNWBrandon; July 30, 2023, 03:07 PM.

I'd go with a PK original + Tailgate stand = $570. The Keg is $525. You get two stands with the PK option.

58limited - so do I. I’ve used it twice so far. At a tailgate party and at a pool party. Also bought the PKTX folding stand. The PKTX really makes it a portable kitchen. The old stand not so much. Packed the PKTX and the PK grill up to a small Air B&B in the mountains and cooked three TT’s for a get together. Love PK products.

I too have originally bought the tailgate stand and not until recently found another complete set up with original cart for $50 that all my dreams came true. I would love the TX stand though! I love my PK’s!

Too small for me to justify an upgrade. I have two original pk/Tx and a go. Would need to surpass 400 for it to serve a purpose for me.

PNWBrandon - I use the original PK with the PKTX and PK Tailgate stand for travel. The PK360 is my main charcoal grill around the house. Unless I'm roasting a chicken or chicken thighs/wings. Then it's the Weber kettle with the Vortex. That setup is a chicken roasting machine. Cheers.

Heck of a setup you got! I wish I had a TX cart. I usually Cook for two so my small assortment of PKs usually fits my needs and when I need more space I use the Hasty Bake Legacy. I love the space on the legacy my only small complaint is fuel efficiency. That’s why my fingers are crossed for someone thing comparable in size to the legacy from PK.

I do agree to the price is on the high side but I like the rough crude feeling to it. That is part of the reason why I like my PK Original more than my PK300. I also have a PKGO and I agree it is built great and is probably my favorite grill. If I had to give up all my grills(PK's, Kettles, and Gasers) and keep just on, I would keep the PKGO. That being said I would definitely give this grill a shot. As far not having a stand I can get buy with out one. I have a couple of folding camp tables I could put it on. If they are still in business a few months from now I might buy one.Originally posted by BBQPhil View PostI would love to see more competition, but my product development experience says crude, rough, and overpriced for what it is. A carbon steel grate will likely rust through very quickly. I happen to have a PKGO and the engineering details are superb, even though the price is high.

Found this buy accident. He has some TikTok videos, but he might want to think about more YouTube videos. I think there are more people that can afford a 500 dollar grill on YouTube than TikTok. https://www.tiktok.com/@smokinkegs/v...32371810176299
