I thought this was a super interesting discussion from a few years ago. Now with the new PK300, I wonder if anyone else has some new thoughts on the comparisons.

After a serious week of thinking, I would put the 26 kettle up against a pk any day., in “my” owner experience. Challenge my 26 to what you think your pk can only do.Last edited by Richard Chrz; November 4, 2022, 07:16 PM.

My personal likes about PK is the shape and longevity. PK's seem small (even the 360) to me, but really you get a fully usable grate. On a kettle or kamado you have a round or maybe oval area which is fine for wings but maybe not other things I like to cook. I personally abuse and neglect my cookers in a rust prone area. I might snag a kettle of some sort one day (likely a SNS unless a Weber shows up on marketplace that is irresistible), but I have zero use for a kamado. There's just too much space taken up for a small cooking area (unless someone wants to send me a mega xl kamado for free
My stepdad loves his BGE and turns out some great food, it's just not for me (I break things

Yeah, My XL is big and heavy for sure. I was just pointing out it has a pretty large capacity but I rarely use my expansion rack. For me, I really view the PK and kettles in a different category. For certain things, I'm reaching for the kamado and I'll grab a kettle for other things. I would love to give a PK a go too. Maybe, someday I will.

Attjack honestly what I enjoy most with the PKGO is making it do things it's not supposed to be able to do. I've yet to actually take it on the go. It's unfortunate they raised the price on it so much, it was already a stretch at the pre-inflation pricing

I've also enjoyed doing that with pretty much every grill I've owned. But being a grill hoarder I eventually settle down and select the best grill for the application. That means I'm not that likely to grill on the Primo anymore. That said it lives in the outdoor kitchen so during the winter it may get some grilling time from time to time if I'm set on using charcoal.
