I am here to confess my hypocrisy. After doing a bunch of complaining about PK raising their prices, I went ahead and bought the New Original PK300. I already own the old original and the new PKGO. The original works great for charcoal smoking and grilling and I have made my best bbq on it but its the awesome fit and finish of the new PKGO that got me to pull the trigger on the PK300. I love using my new PKGO and use it for all my small cook direct grilling. The new PK300 looks to be made with the same quality fit and finish as the new PKGO but the main reason I ordered the new one is because the bottom vents on the old original drive me crazy. That being said I will still keep my old original because it still cooks great and due to the smaller size of PK's I can still use it if I need more grilling or smoking space. I just have to keep telling myself at least I didn't spend the extra 200 dollars for the sheet pan holders on the AF version that I would never use even though I almost did buy it(that teal color one looks nice).

Yes, I have the PK Original too and those bottom vents are a pain. I have an original weber kettle grill with the three individual vents and I have to get down on the ground to check them if I make adjustments.
I like the temperature probe access door on the PK300, but wonder why didn't they just put in a thermometer dial since they made all these upgrades. I added it to my PK Original.
Waiting for them to upgrade the PK360. Not that I'd buy another one, but just like to see the upgrades.
PK's are a bit expensive, but the best grill out there......IMHO. Congrats on the purchase. What color did you choose? Silver or Graphite?

Graphite, my little PKGO is silver and black and looks exactly like my little silver and black Jeep Renegade(both silver with black bottom trim). If I could get a free 360 or AF out of it I would take a nice picture of the two together. It would make a great cheesy life style add.Originally posted by TripleB View PostYes, I have the PK Original too and those bottom vents are a pain. I think they will last for about ever.
If I were to go back to charcoal the PK would be a good choice.

the lasts forever part is the only thing keeping them on the edge of over priced instead of insane... I've left my PKGO outside on the ground for over a year. The dogs pee on it sometimes, it's surrounded by weeds, it was under snow... I hose it off before using it and it's good to go. The grates are all in fantastic shape as well. The only thing that let me down was the base for the flipkit, but there's nothing on the big PKs made out of the same material or paint.

Thanks for your post. I've been thinking I need to bring a charcoal grill back into our line-up and had been considering Weber and SnS kettles, and PK. The PK original seems just a bit too basic for my interests, but the PK300 seems to have stepped things up and fits the bill for what I'm looking for better. Your endorsement may help put me over the edge!
