Anybody heard of this company? I stumbled across them today and it turns out they are about 30 miles from where I live. Their cookers look like beasts. The big one weighs over 700 pounds! If the thing works as advertised, pretty cool too. But expensive! I have reached out to them and as I have nothing but time, I will try to arrange a visit there to check it out.

When I clicked your link it gave me a warning about the website impersonating Big Daddy Smokers. I don't know if that is something new built into The Pit or it is a bad link. I did not click "allow"
Ok folks. I had the same pop up on my Iphone. Sorry everyone. I do not know what the issue is. It works fine on my tablet. Huskee or Meathead maybe you should take this post down. Again, sorry everyone.
No reason to be sorry. It is a legit site, I am sure. I was on the computer - Apple Safari browser. Since things here are being updated it is good to see if it is their site or ours.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

bigpoppasmokers.com is real and a very good seller. never heard of bigdaddysmokers. The warnig you saw is because they do not have proper security set up on their site.

So the reason for the error is that when you secure a site, the certificate sees bigdaddysmokers.com and www.bigdaddysmokers.com as different sites. They have a certificate that's valid for bigdaddysmokers.com but NOT for the www. version. There's no danger in clicking it and you might want to edit the URL in the first post to remove the www. (so it would be just bigdaddysmokers.com)
Got the error. Clicked anyways. Was fine. Too expensive for me for what you get. Seems like he’s got "too many investors"? And that’s why it’s too expensive? Ehhh, anyways, if you’re still interested, call him up and visit in person. If he says no, then walk.
"So, I rounded up a few friends, we grabbed a few cold drinks, fired up an old smoker, put our heads together, and started to design the best smoker/grill available today."
Too expensive for me too actually. But I am retired with nothing but time so it would be a fun thing to waste some time on. Kind of a cool unit aside from the price though.
I see a fair amount of similarity between the 2400 (3600 just larger) and the M Grills M1 except for the double wall and rotisserie hardware (concept resembles some commercial smokers that are WAY more expensive) on the BD. From that point of view the price is comparable or a bit better depending on what you value. Definitely not a commodity cooker though.
I first became aware of them on ebay. I'd saved the listing for research interest. Within a few days I got an offer through the ebay system to purchase at a lower price, 10% off IIRC, and they list with a "make offer" option, so there's negotiating room on the price. As with any of these hunks the shipping cost could be a killer for some.
