    I never use it to light coals. I use it all the time to sear stuff.

    There was a little mention of cooking with a wok on the pod cast. Just thought I’d toss in my 1 & a 1/2 cents into the fray. Cast Iron was mentioned, it is not good for Chinese

      You can get AA battery spacers (just metal cylinders) from amazon and I used a cheap DC adapter (also from amazon). I just pressure fit everything and taped it
      If you battery compartment is broke I suppose just solder or wire nut an adapter

      JimLinebarger I pretty much did what Polarbear777 did except I found some guidance on the internet that used dowel rods and screws to attach the wires. The end of my handle was busted so I used a screw to keep the dowel rods in place.

    Without the fan it’s an ok chimney. With the fan it sears stuff like nothing else. (Use skewers through the item instead of grates, the grates go over 1000F and are just too hot).
