I’ve gone and done it. Began the process via Big Poppa smokers of payments to purchase an M1 charcoal and stick burner cooker. 2 installments down and 2 to go. I’m getting anxious to say the least! Now do I remove a cooker or stay with 5? MCS is real y’all.

I’ve been researching quite a while and comparing to Hastybake and Santa Maria grills like the Braten 1000. All my cookers are round and I like the way you can use all of the space on a square or rectangular cooker. Then after reading the testimonials on M grills website it seems this cooker can do it all and is extremely well made in the USA. The Braten was very tempting but a bit too pricey

Nevah give in, nevah give in, nevah! Feed the need! Take a deep breath, relax, feel good about what you have accomplished, smile. You’ve achieved victory. Picture yourself lighting the first fire & putting the first serving of meat on the grates, yessssss. Then, picture your next cooker!
Keep em all, unless ya have no room, like me.

Current line-up of cookers: Oklahoma Joe's Bronco Pro, Masterbuilt Gravity Series 1050, Blackstone ProSeries 4 Burner 36" griddle, Weber Performer Deluxe and Weber Smokey Joe.
I rationalize it to myself this way: there are far worse addictions I could have. At least with this one, my family, friends, neighbors and I eat great and have a lot of fun together. And considering how much we used to eat out, being very thrifty with my gear acquisitions, I'm doing no worse than breaking even on the cost over the past few years.

Haha well said. I underwent some good natured ridicule recently at a family gathering. Why? Because I was showing pictures of meat I had smoked, and someone asked if I had pictures of my KIDS on that phone! My sister pointed out to my wife that there were much worse things I could be doing with my time than cooking!

You are soon to be a proud Poppa, we expect great things out of you young man !!! That M1 unit looks nice, very similar to the Hasty. You mentioned a Braten, that's been on my far off radar screen for some time now. Don't need it, just want it !! Look forward to your cooks.
