Nomad Grills - delay after delay + vague communication

Nomad went out of stock on their grills and replaced the $698 made in China version with a $399 made in USA version. They call this new one the Rodeo. It was in May when they opened for pre-orders.

I had the opportunity to sell my Gen 2, so I did, and placed a pre-order. Shipping was promised for August.

On July 28, we got an email that shipping had slipped to September.

on August 19, we got an email that shipping had slipped to October.

The emails all referred to being in the final stages, But contained no details.

It is now October 20, and no email from the company. Someone in a Facebook group has been in communication with the company, and They posted a screenshot of an email in which Victor stated that shipping had slipped to November.

The Nomad Grill Community is small, but it would seem to me that they’re losing a lot of goodwill through their sparse and vague communications.

I hope they can solve whatever the problem is, and get back on track. My confidence is slipping fast.

Does anyone else have a Rodeo on order?

I just looked up their website and it looks like an awesome travel grill. I can understand your frustration in the continued delays. I would love to hear what you think about it when it finally comes.

That is unfortunate. I'm not overly familiar with Nomad, but even though they are 'Made in the USA' as you say, oftentimes those things depend on imported parts and components. These very well may be beyond the control of the company. That's unfortunate, but they will bear the shame of the situation as the end retailer.

I'm currently awaiting delivery today of a trio of subwoofers I ordered back in March that were originally slated for arrival in May - unfortunately, things happened, supply lines, manufacturing concerns, etc., but the owner of the company is very active in their FB group and the community, and these are a unique enough and seemingly revolutionary product that I was willing to wait however long it took. Supposedly mine should arrive TODAY. I hope so, but for me, it's still going to be a while before I can do anything but fondle them, anyways. lol

So... it's really all about what it's worth to you, but it is unfortunate when good companies bear the brunt of consequences from a supply chain problem - but if those companies aren't forthright, honest and frank about problems, it often leads to more of a reputation hit than it should have.

Either way, it's good information to have and thanks for sharing it. I hope you get your grill soon and I hope it is worth every penny and every day of delay!

        That’s where they’re hurting themselves.
