    Using ChatGPT for grill advice

Here's the result of a quick test asking ChatGPT for advice on grills. Of course, it's spouting what it finds on the web, and , who knows, it could even be using data from this site.

    Question:

What is the best free standing gas grill running on propane in the $800-$1500 range and in the $400-$800 range?

    Answer:

Here are excellent options for freestanding propane gas grills in your two price ranges, based on

    expert reviews and community feedback:

    1. Weber Genesis E-315 / E-325 / E-335 / E-330 (Genesis II Series)

    - Highlights: High-quality stainless steel burners, durable Flavorizer bars, and porcelain-enameled

cast-iron grates. Excellent heat retention, even cooking, and reliable ignition. Genesis E-315 is the

3-burner model (~$799); E-330/E-335 (~$900-940) include sear station or extra storage.

    - Reputation: Consistently praised for longevity, repairability, and consistent build.

I find ChatGTP to be super useful. I subscribe to the pro version and use it for
    - interpreting medical data/informing myself of the right questions to ask for test results.
    - analyzing house projects/fixes. It’s pretty good at this. Feed it a picture and describe the issue and it is pretty darn useful.
    - recipe/flavor combinations. Since it’s functionally a big aggregator of the internet’s wisdom (or lack there of), it can be good at this. Especially if you’re ramping up on a new cuisine.
    - comparing quotes/shopping around with hard data for either products or services. Helped me find backpacking gear, a good EDC knife, and compare air conditioner quotes.
    - in general helping me figure out what the right questions to ask in a subject are that I don’t know much about

ive found it to be not awesome at searching for a new “thing” on the internet. In particular restaurants or recommending businesses. It can search the web, but it seems to be hesitant to say anything negative (likely weighted that way) and just parrots the aggregate of google reviews. It struggles to “get a level deeper” than that.
