    Masterbuilt at CES 2024

It looks like Masterbuilt is welcoming 2024 with some new announcements at this year's CES in Las Vegas:

Masterbuilt makes innovative digital charcoal grills, griddles, electric smokers, propane smokers, combination grill & smokers, fryers and more. For the backyard griller or on-the-go meat smoker, master the art of cooking with Masterbuilt.

The AutoIgnite is already up on their website, while the Gravity Series XT is apparently going to be available in April. While I decided to go with the Chargrilled gravity fed smoker a while back, it is good to see they are still looking to introduce new/updated products in this space.

A friend of mine at church has that bottom charcoal vertical smoker with thermostatic control, and loves it. He came off an old propane Masterbuilt where he used wood chips, which rusted out after about 10 years use.

Cool stuff. I like Masterbuilt's modern cookers, great designs with smart, useful features.

Max Good was there so I'm anxious to see what all he can share about the toys he was able to see.

So the MB 560 has been retired and replaced with this new 545. The 560 doesn’t appear to be on the website anymore. That was unexpected.

Actually, looking at the current lineup, the VERTICAL charcoal smoker my friend has appears to be discontinued. His is charcoal fueled, with fan and digital control like the gravity fed - but just with a charcoal pan in the bottom. I see some instances of it still online, but all Masterbuilt shows now in the vertical form factor are their standard electric or propane smokers.

While I can still find it at Lowe's and other websites, the Masterbuilt vertical charcoal smoker with two doors - one for the cook chamber and one for the charcoal and water pan - is gone apparently. I thought it was a nice design, giving you thermostatic control of charcoal in a smaller footprint than the gravity fed series.

I have the bottom one. My only two gribes are flimsy construction (par for the course at that price point) and the software sometimes struggles to connect to my phone.

        Just got back from CES.

Masterbuilt has a new, mid-size charcoal gravity feed. The charcoal hopper is inside, under the hood. It has a coated, cast iron lid that may be used for searing.

Masterbuilt also has a new large gravity feed with upgrades from the previous versions.
