ecowper One of my ammo suppliers offers very low cost shipping/delivery protection. Evidently, anything sent from an ammo sales point and is heavy has a greater than normal chance of being 'lost'.

I'm about 2-3 years from outgrowing my 22" kettle. A HB is really the only other grill I would consider over the 26" kettle. I really don't think that $1k for the legacy or $3200 for the 357 is ridiculous. So I was only about half joking about someone buying it and reporting back. How does the 357 handle in the weather, specifically the wind? How do you like the HB design overall?
The 357 is a very good grill and smoker. It handles all weather very well. It's doubled walled and has gaskets around the side door and hood. It also has the more precise slider vents which make a big difference.
I like the Hastybake design a lot and the adjustable firebox really makes it very versatile. The only thing that I don't care for is that most of their grills are not very air tight and fire control can be a challenge. I also have a HB Legacy 131 and until I added gaskets to three sides of the side door, I could not keep the temps down for smoking for anything. It would run 300+ with both vents 100% closed. Now I can leave the vents pretty much all the way open and get it to run 250-300 for smoking purposes. It will also get hotter than that for grilling if I let a lot of coals get lit. The 357 is definitely my favorite HB though.
