    Cowboys brisket

As a Texas native and a die hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys the past couple days have been rough. In order to cheer myself up I was looking through some funny pictures on my phone and came across these ones that I had meant to post last week. To celebrate the fact that my boys even made the playoffs and for a bit of luck I cooked up a brisket and all the fixin's that reminded me of home (fried okra, my mother's bean recipe, and corn on the cob on the PBC). The best part of everything was that my wife and I got to share the good food with a friend who had never gotten to experience the sheer ecstasy of tasting brisket in any form. I present to you the journey of my brisket from rub to plate. I offer these pictures up to the will of those 53 men who exhausted themselves against the Seahawks of Seattle for my enjoyment and their eventual victory. Alas, I had to work this past Saturday and we all know what happened. The moral of the story is that I need to make a brisket for every Cowboys game day. That is a challenge I am happily ready to embrace. Now, without further ado here are the pictures.

Shouldn't that thing have a giant 'L' branded in the middle of it?

    Good looking brisket.

I thought the Boys were going to make a run on the Rams towards the end but the Rams were playing much better. That's a nice looking brisket meal none the less.

The Cowboys have never been the same since Jerry Jones canned Jimmy Johnson. I had hopes that Bill Parcells would work his magic, but.....

Great looking brisket and plate-up, BTW.

Although I hate to admit it, the Murchison/Schramm team was pretty formidable.

Good looking brisket. Next time you get to feeling down about the boys, think of me. I am a Lions fan... There isn't enough brisket on the planet to get those guys to get to the playoffs, let alone win a playoff game.

That's enough to turn you into the Eeyore of football! (Former Lions fan in my childhood).

I'll take that Texas style brisket any day, nice work, even if you didn't use Post Oak . You can go ahead and keep your Cowboys ....

Heh. Im a giants fan so ive needed that brisket all year. From the losses to eli looking well, like eli, to the run of wins that screwed our draft pick...there might not be enough brisket in the world.

                  Great looking cook!

That brisket looks great! Don't feel so bad about the Cowboys, they lasted a week longer than my Texans. And at least the Cowboys defense showed up to play.

Great looking Brisket, but you had me at "fried Okra." If it makes you feel better, I'm a Jaguars fan.
