The first accessory is always the cover. Doesn't matter what the grill is. Hell, I might not buy a cooker if there isn't a good cover for it. Chicago winter, bad for things.
After that, purely from reading here... MOAR HOOKZ!

A lot of great suggestions given by the best bbq’rs around...My 2 cents worth...
1. Cover. I got the Cover-Mates brand barrel type cover that is a size bigger than the PBC diameter for easier removal and placement on and plus, it’s vented.
2. Ash catcher. I went to Wolly World and picked up a 16†steel pizza pan for around $6.00. Still using it after 3 years ish.
3. Get the big bag of PBC AP Rub. If I’m not using S&G Rub on my bird, it’s the AP rub next in line.
4. The Turkey Hanger. Works with chicken too.
5. A good pair of high heat rated grilling gloves or any other pair of gloves that can withstand high heat.
I haven’t gotten the hinged grate yet but wanting one and probably come in handy.

I consider the ash catcher and the poultry hangers absolute necessities. If you are going to use your PBC for grilling, I highly recommend the Grill Grates. I move those back and forth between my PBC and my Weber gas grill. Everything else is a matter of choice. You can get gloves, chimney starter, etc., etc., elsewhere of better or equal quality at a lower price. The rub shakers are a joke, you can buy the same thing at Walmart for $2. Depending on where you live, you may not need the cover. I agree about rain and snow, but I'm in the southwest. We don't get any snow, and it only rains during the same two weeks every year. I rinse and wipe off my PBC every once in a while and it still looks great (on the outside, the inside is another matter). I have been lusting after those vertical skewers, to do some rodizio style meats. That will be my next purchase. I bought the bottle opener and returned it. FOR ADVICE: Definitely, definitely follow fzxdoc's advice about lining the bottom with heavy duty aluminum foil, aligning the handle with the vent hole, and buying a cheap old fashioned rake to rotate the coal pan 180 degrees halfway through your smoke.

I have the hinged grate and don't use it. If your Costco doesn't sell bone-in pork butt, I use the turkey hangers for the boneless butts. They work grate (jk great). You can rub the insides, run a narrow knife through the butt, thread the hanger through the hole, and you're good to go.
