I agree with many others, you're going to love the PBC. I have a kettle plus SnS setup that I also love but I tend to monitor and tinker with that more than I should. Today I finally just trusted the PBC to do it's thing despite what my temps were reading. It's definitely a different beast from a WSM or other type of smoker, it's a cooker. IMO it's a pretty damn fun and amazing cooker as well. Enjoy!

Thanks everyone. I stocked up on Kingsford and eagerly awaiting. Taking the wife on a ronantic getaway for a long weekend starting this Thurs. Fingers crossed the PBC arrives by Wednesday; especially since there is a great sale on Perdue chicken this week. If not, no biggie, nothing like coming home from a trip with a new toy either waiting for me or arrivng very soon.

Bought mine this spring - best ever purchase.Originally posted by jlhilden View PostAbove all, I love chicken; either fried, roasted, grilled, smoked, etc, I can eat my weight in yard bird every month (I'm about 235 lbs). There are some great recipies and methods for preparing chicken but my favorite is a smokey/grilled taste with crispy skin. I've done real well with my gas grill and smoke tube, but the PBC appears tobe made to make what I crave the most perfectly. For one, no matter the method, to be perfect, charcoal has to be used. So there is no mystery what my fist cook will be - with a bowl of Alabama white ready to go.
I made chicken out here at the trailer a few weeks ago, best chicken any of us had ever had! I have never encountered a juicier chicken in my life. In fact, I had to cut it out on the picnic table because it would've flooded the kitchen with juice.
My wife's birthday is on the 26th (Saturday) so we'll be out at the trailer. I said I would make anything she wanted for supper. Her choice? PBC chicken.
Have fun with it!

You will never regret buying your PBC. Great on ribs and chicken as noted by many above....but never forget that the PBC is also a magical brisket machine. Used mine in my first comp this weekend, and spent several enjoyable hours watching the guy next to me fiddle with his offset smoker while my PBC was on cruise control.

The PBC may not be the best food smoker in the world or what not, but dollar for dollar I agree w/ almost everyone here that the PBC is the best cooker you can buy. The volume and taste that it produces is hands down top notch.
