Going in for cataract surgery Thursday. Doctor said no sex for a week- no problem. Cannot use your smoker for 2 weeks...PROBLEM!!!!

Of all the wonders that modern medicine has done for me the cataract surgery is the most life changing. I wore glasses from the first grade until I was 60 years old. Because of cataracts they replaced the lenses in both eyes. I still have 20/20 vision over 10 years later. Yes I do need readers to do close work but donβt need glasses for anything else. Back then I donβt remember any restrictions on my activities, just had two different kinds of drops to use every day for a month or so. This is one of those things that makes you better than you were by a noticeable amount.
I'm in that boat, except my unusually bad eyes developed cataracts by age 54. 4.5 years later I still have 20/20 distance vision, and just keep cheap readers laying around the house and office for doing close up work more comfortably. I can read and use my cell phone well enough though without anything, and make out most menus in restaurants, but prefer the readers for extended close up stuff without a headache...
I thought it had been longer than 4.5 years, but so glad to be out of glasses...
