I use Kingsford Professional and I have no issues maintaining above 225 for 10 hours. As for reloading, I've never had to, but I think a galvanized 2-3" diameter round dryer duct cut to length would fit down into the drum and you can drop briquettes down the duct to wherever you want in the basket.

Never had to reload the PBC but I’ve also never done a cook with multiple briskets or butts. Have an 8# butt on now with full basket of KBB. Confident it will be plenty. Also this thing never really wants to run at 225
