First long cook on Bronco coming up - best setup for max burn time?

Looking to do some butts for the first long cook, so far it has been chicken and ribs. I have B&B briquettes and will probably pick up some char logs today. What can I expect with a full basket maybe half and half briquettes and char logs running at around 250?

That will give you more than enough time for a couple of butts at that temp...

I've never used char logs, but a load of briquets will be plenty.

I agree. I've run B&B in mine and have unnecessarily piled it up pretty high a few times when I was just starting out. Full load will run a long time at 250, though I hesitate to put a time on it, I think it would be plenty. i got one done no problem without adding charcoal.

I can't remember where I either read this or if it was in on of their youtube videos.. The Bronco should run between 8-10hrs at 250 depending on outside temp/humidity/wind/blah/blah/blah..... The Bronco Pro should run 10-12hrs depending on the same Blah/Blahs..

On my first long cook of 2 butts on my new Bronco,I did a mix of B&B Char Logs and Briquettes at around 250 and I went around 11 hours on a full load. Of course, YMMV ... There is a YouTube video where a guy very neatly arranged each individual briquette and fully loaded his Bronco and he went well over 12 hours. I don't remember his channel name. You should be fine.

With char-logs and B&B briquettes at 250F --You can get 15 hours. Stack briquettes vertically for the first layer. Along the outside of the basket, and in with the first layer of briquettes, place 4-6 char-logs vertically. Drop a couple of chunks of wood near where you will start the fire. Then fill the basket with briquettes and a couple more char-logs laying flat on top . Once you have your orange pot of money, drop a piece of wood right on the fire. Cook when you have clean smoke. Temps take at least an hour to settle. After two hours temps are as stable as a parked car.

6- 8 Char logs total and I'm not using the pro version!
