My current collection of Irish whiskey, my favorites are the single pot stills then the always hard to get Single malt Drumshanbo. Any of you fine folks venture out from the scotch and bourbon wagon?

That Jameson Stout edition is really good and an excellent value. I haven’t tried the Triple Triole though. How does it taste?Last edited by STEbbq; February 24, 2024, 03:39 PM.

You definitely get the hint of sherry taste at the beginning, very smooth..I’ve had the Caskmates label Stout before..but we got this one which is labeled a bit different and the Triple Triple on our cruise last monthLast edited by BBryans3; February 25, 2024, 01:42 PM.

Why yes we do!!!!!! And the only Irish bottle I have is Egan’s Conviction - it’s pretty good! My dad has the RB12 - that’s really good as well! And I think I tried the black barrel last March and really enjoyed it.
Giving this a go, as there are a number of us in The Pit that sip on a bourbon/whiskey/rye/scotch. So, that this thread could be about just that - bourbon/whiskey/rye/scotch and allow for us to provide reviews on any of the four, ask about bottles we are interested in trying or finding, and just have some fun with the good

Love me some single malt Scotch. But I do enjoy that Jameson Stout Edition. I also find it to be a great value. Good stuff!

Our neighborhood always finds a way to do family meals for holidays. St. Patrick's day is no exception. I picked up a Costco sized bottle of Jameson to make homemade Irish Cream (happy to share a recipe if anyone's interested). Since all the other families want to do the Shepherd's pie and boiled dinner, I'm also going with a Dublin Coddle from Chef John...

I don't drink much Irish Whiskey, but my go-to is Powers John's Lane 12 year. Maybe because the majority of the distillate is aged in partially in used bourbon casks and I'm a bourbon drinker. We stayed in Ireland a few years ago. We didn't tour any distilleries, but we took a tour of the Irish Whiskey Museum in Dublin. I tried quite a few at the museum, and pubs. It seemed like most of the locals were drinking the standard Powers Gold. I like it, but I love the John's Lane.

I certainly do. I like Tullamore Dew and Bushmills over Jameson. I bought Red Breast 12 year last year, which is the most expensive bottle of whiskey I’ve ever bought. While I liked I wouldn’t buy it again. My BIL went to a Notre Dame vs Navy game in Dublin years ago and brought home a bottle of Green Spot. It was amazing. Just saw it at Costco few weeks ago but didn’t buy it. Went with Woodford Reserve Doible Oak instead 😁. I do need a bottle of Irish Whiskey though…..
