    Four Roses homemade eggnog recipe

I just saw ecowper post and it immediately made me think of my mother's eggnog she would make every Christmas. She used Four Roses and the recipe used to be on the bottles at Christmas time. I don't think she used the Jamaican rum that they list. Always added a dash of nutmeg on top. She kept a large gasketed glass hinged lid jar in the fridge full of the delicious concoction.
Here's a link to the recipe. Enjoy!

The creamy layer will sit on top. You pour it out of the jar then fold the top layer right on top. I wasn't sure how to describe this without saying "top" multiple times lol.

Dang that sounds real good. I bet if you put that in a nitro syphon......it would really kick it up into another level.

Spinaker Oh yeah, I have both Co2 & Nitro iSi syphons…and am truly always on the lookout for new ways to use them. EVERYONE should own at least one IMO.

I love bourbon and eggnog, just not together. Same with oj and vodka. But I do love oj and champagne together.

Beat the yolks and whites of 6 eggs separately. Add ½ cup of sugar to the yolks while beating. Add ¼ cup of sugar to whites after beating until very stiff. Next, mix egg whites with yolks, and stir in 1 pint of cream and 1 pint of milk.
          Pour concoction down the drain.
Pour bourbon in glass, drink, repeat as needed.

Now now name calling is not allowed. 😀 Just because I don’t see any reason to ruin perfectly good bourbon doesn’t make me an alcoholic.

Not to be a stick in the mud, but what's the salmonella risk with all those raw eggs?

If worried about it, you can always use pasteurized eggs. It's gonna be about the same as an over easy or sunny side up egg or a poached egg with a runny yolk.

If you have a sous vide circulator, you can also pasteurize the eggs yourself.

texastweeter I'm not a fan of egg yolk that's not mixed in with other things, so I don't do fried eggs in any form. I'm a scrambled only guy.
