    It's Negroni Week

    It's Negroni Week and around the nation many restaurants and bars are having specials. Although I did not make it out tonight I did make a Kingston Negroni.

    1 oz Smith and Cross Jamaican Rum
    1 oz Cocchi Vermouth di Torino
    1 oz Campari

    Shake with ice and strain over a big rock.

    I had more than a few "Negroni Cocktails" while visiting Rome earlier this year (equal parts gin, sweet vermouth, and Campari).

      Unlike our local events like Burger Week, Dumpling Week, Nacho Week, etc., and despite lots of local spots here participating, I'm having a hard time figuring out the specific riffs on the Negroni and what they are charging at each business.

        Meathead turned me on to these, they're his fave. My preferred way lately is 50/50 Campari and 90-proof gin, no vermouth. And nothing else. I don't like the taste of vermouth and therefore why add a negative to my drink, methinks.
