    Cocktails for tonight

    Here's what I'm thinking.

I tried this one before and it's very good. It tastes like grapefruit even though there's none in it. This is like a 4 or 5 out of 5.

    French Gimlet

    2 oz Gin
1.5 oz St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
    0.5 oz Lime Juice

And because I'm using St. Germain above I want to try this one too.

    Sunflower Cocktail

¾ ounce gin (preferably London Dry style)
¾ ounce triple sec (I used Cointreau)
¾ ounce elderflower liqueur (I used St Germain)
    ¾ ounce lemon juice
1-2 sprays of absinthe (or rinse the glass with it if you don't have a spray bottle)

I have a bottle of applejack on the shelf I haven't used in a cocktail yet so I'm thinking I should try one of these.

    The Pink Lady Cocktail

    1 1/2 ounces gin
    1/2 ounce applejack
1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
    1/2 ounce grenadine
    1 small egg white

    What will you be drinking?

It helps if you keep sipping the cold liquid and replace it with warm liquid...

It’s cold and wet here in the northeast so that called for a Rye Manhattan

        2 1/2 oz Rittenhouse Rye
        1 oz Carpano Antica
a few dashes of Angostura bitters

Served up with a Luxardo cherry

I just picked up a bottle of Rittenhouse last week. Have never had it before, and this post may just push me to get some out.

Whiskey, Rye and or Bourbon has never been something I have enjoyed in the past but I have been enjoying Manhattans more and more.

Maybe as I am getting more and more “seasoned” my appreciation for finer things is increasing.

        • 2 oz Gin
        • 1.5 oz St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
        • 0.5 oz Lime Juice

Add gin, lime juice, and St Germain Elderflower Liqueur to an ice-filled cocktail shaker.

Shake for 10-15 seconds until cold.

Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with lime wheel.

Like I said this is a good one. 4.5/5 stars.

I’ve had something very similar to the French gimlet but it was called an enlightened martini. I’d drink just about anything with Hendricks in it.

Wait! What? What’s your go-to gin, then? I may be the one that has to go shopping.

Try The Botanist Gin. Fantastic dry gin. Monkey 47 is also great but very floral with unique spices.

Old Glory I've had the Botanist and like it as much as Hendricks. It seems a bit more floral with a stronger Juniper taste to me than Hendricks. Have you had the Hendricks Neptunia? It reminds me of the Botanist in its flavors. I've never tried the Monkey 47 nor seen it in any of our liquor control board stores.

Glad I started early. The police showed up at 11. There were 10 cop cars and an airplane circling my block. They were on a megaphone yelling to come out with your hands up. 15 cops with ARs searched my backyard. They released a canine but could not find the fugitives. Later they deployed drones in my yard and all my neighbor's yards. This went on for 4 hours.

fzxdoc Yeah my biggest concern was the basement since the door that leads from there to the backyard was unlocked so I checked that out. All suspects have now been apprehended.
