Decades past, it was a very reliable place for getting breakfast while on the road. Then it changed. The grits, which I view as a touchstone of a Southern breakfast, began tasting like they were made by some corporate hack named Vincent La Guardia Gambini, who had never seen a grit before.
I've noted that what gains they made post covid have begun to slip.
Having never been to a Cracker Barrel I don’t have a dog in this fight. But i absolutely loathe this kind of sanitized corporate look they are going for. Looks like a Starbucks.
Panhead John I know, but there's other renderings out there of what some of the new stores may look like and this isn't that far off. I do enjoy the number of businesses capitalizing on this though.

I've never eaten at one, never will. I just wish these petulant, sniveling, self-absorbed children would grow the hell up and act like adults. These were the toddlers we've all seen who were throwing unchecked temper tantrums, kicking and screaming and writhing on the floor at the supermarket.
Used to be an infrequent but regular patron. Back when my in-laws were living, we used to trek down to St. Louis two to three times a year. We’d almost always hit the CB on the way down, and sometimes on the way up. Always adequate, never spectacular.
I don’t think I’d be a regular customer even if they were convenient. Closest one to my house is 25 miles west, a direction I don’t go very often. 30 miles south, 30 miles southwest, also a long way to go for what it is.
your mileage will vary. I think the regular customers are folks who live closer.
funny parallel with Target, who is having a time of it, and their CEO has stepped down. They went the other way, removing their diversity initiatives. In both cases, a CEO and board didn’t quite understand their core customers. Or didn’t respect them in their search for new, “more desirable” customers.
it’s still a minor thing to be upset about, even if it is one thing in a larger world of changes. I have a nasty joke about it, but it’s inappropriate for this forum.

The best part of all of this.....seeing people freak out about a logo for a company that could care less about you, your family or anything you care about.
