Panhead John Your painstaking research is greatly appreciated! As to Five Guys- My son lives in N.VA. He won't eat at any of the FGs near him. He says they s..k. But when comes to visit us he always hits the FGs up the street.

Went to Goodyear Ar. for ST. Had not heard of Cheddars before. Pass. Bubba's 33 just out front of the room, similar to "Roadhouse", Giant screens wallpaper the place. They had $10.99 burgers that included fries on Tuesdays. Incredible!
Also ate at Five Guys the night before. Also incredible! Seasoned fries rock da house!
Had not heard of "Scratch Kitchen" before. Cheddars and Bubba's both used the name.

Half the group, 2dzn, chose to go to the Grand Canyon mon. Got turned back because of snow. 12 hr bus trip, Hard Pass.
All in all trip was a great time. Burgers nearly everyday. Killer Q in Scottsdale at a place named Joe's on Gilbert. Solid 9.

Surprised at the lack of comments re Shake Shack! Are they in a different burger category perhaps? Or just not enough of them around?

They have a good number of locations it looks like. I ate at one years ago but don’t remember how good it was.

Next you will tell me there are only Four guys and now, maybe no guys. But PJ, Buffalo Wid Wings which is chicken not buffalo. Now they do hamburgers which started out as beef, but now cooked it becomes a ham burger. Where is George Washington when we need him (Nate Bergatz).
I am also interested that you drank water with a burger & fries (onion rings to those in Oconomowoc).

first stop - Laguna Burger, then an hour or so drive south to Buckhorn, then a bit further south to the Green Chile Capital of the World - Hatch, NM for Sparky’s Green Chile Burger.

Then, we head back to my house and I’ll make a Green Chile Burger that will be better than the best!!!
