Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
No, no, no, no........I could have framed that better.
My wife has no idea who Rich Bayless is, that was her response to me suggesting a "Mexican" restaurant in the Chicago airport.
His videos are like the Jacques Pépin videos for Mexican food. He is famous for the PBS series Mexico: One Plate at a Time (169 episodes), has 7 Michelin stars, and won the competition show Top Chef Masters (24 world renowned chefs against each other).
She would be seriously missing out. It isn’t Chicago Mexican food. It’s world class Mexican food that happens to be in O’Hare. Read the article I linked to see all the things he demanded to make it happen, and all the hoops both sides had to then jump through to make all that happen!
Having spent most of my life dining in little mom & pop Mexican joints in Chicago and its suburbs, I must say that your wife would have her taste buds tingled by “Chicago Mexican food” Michael_in_TX There are plenty of Mexican emigres who do food right.
Whether it's your chance to try a Chicago-style hot dog or just enjoy your favorite meal at Chili's, O'Hare has a variety of culinary experiences for our visitors.
She's on her way! I will report her culinary adventures. (If time allows. We may be crunched for time....flight to Chicago was delayed already due to a clogged sink drain.)
Eating deep dish pizza at O'Hare will not be a good representation of what Chicago Pizza can be - wonderfully satisfying.
So, go for the dog... or, I think I would key in on the Rick Bayless’ Tortas Frontera recommendations from above.
Hands down, well one hand down, the other if’n ya can handle it is used fer a CHICAGO DOG!
Not a hot dog or a “whatta ya want on it thing”, but a CHICAGO DOG!
