The only electronics besides my Thermapen that I use every time I cook. The UE Megaboom blue tooth speaker. These things sound fantastic and the battery will last a entire brisket cook. I can highly recommend these and are a steal at $119!! I think I paid close to $300 for mine 5 years ago. So when you're out on the patio or by the garage watching that brisket or pork butt chugging along crank the tunes! I went through several tinny sounding speakers at about this price until I got fed up and paid the price for the Mega Boom and haven't looked back since well worth the full price I paid.
Woot has them 16 hours left or while supplies last. https://electronics.woot.com/offers/...tooth-speakers

If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
I've got Yamaha outdoor speakers and an old Technics amp inside to drive the sound, driving it from either an Airport Express (Airplay from the iPhone), Alexa, radio or my turntable. Wife is always opening the back door though and telling me to turn it down before I tick off the neighbors!

It has pretty decent sound. It's loud. It is also waterproof, it floats, freeze proof, shock proof. I use it all the time when we go fishing in Canada or on the boat in the cities. We take it one side by side, hunting and fishing. I even left it on my tailgate and it flew into the ditch on my uncle's gravel road. Needless to say, It has had the piss kicked out of it and it still works. I have had for about 5 years now, and it is still going strong.
Uh, I guess I'm out of step. Used to have music going all the time. On my way to work years ago, Dennis Leary's "No Cure for Cancer" was cranked up, rain or shine, with the top down in my LeBaron convertible. Nowadays, I relish the peace and quiet, other than the buzz of distant insects, when I'm tending the fire and the meat with about 2-3 ounces of Knob Creek neat.
I agree with this, but only when cooking at night. I need no entertainment whatsoever in that situation. I live in a subdivision, but good sized lots, plenty of trees and wildlife and out in the country.

I'm a big fan of the UE Boom also. I 'only' have the ordinary Boom, not the Mega Boom, but that little speaker is rock solid. And like Frozen Smoke says, it will last an entire Brisket cook Now why doesn't it say so in the ad, makes perfect sense?
I live in an apartment with a patio. I have 3 large cookers & 3 small ones. It was suggested by mgmnt that I have 1. So I try to be as inconspicuous as I can & not bother any of my neighbors. The smells they all seem to enjoy. No music. Just quietly cookin.
