Givin some hard workin first responders a full belly and a smile on their face - Excellent work OBR. Like others here I just donated. Thank you for donating your time to help those helping others and those that just need a warm meal!

Just donated, and registered as a volunteer.

I don't think they need more equipment, they are set up downtown by the George R Brown convention center.

I'm also thinking of the friends I have who lead churches around Houston. I may reach out to them and see if bringing my rig and doing meals for a few days in Houston would support their work. I think I could show up and be self contained for 2-3 days and feed 500 or so bbq meals a day. Sam and I could go and bring some encouragement and nourishment to our neighbors in the Houston Area. I'll keep you guys updated.

How can I help in this effort? Too far to physically help but can I buy a pork butt for you? PaulstheRibList

Shoot them an e-mail, as well, with photos of your rig. They were very responsive to me when I wanted to volunteer for an event in my neck of the woods. Good job! If accepted, depending on where deployed, shoot me a PM if you need a place to lay your head down.

Dudes, Mudkat tbob4, you guys are super great! I will do all that you mentioned.
I just remembered my truck has a little transmission slipping when I was climbing the bridge with a lighter trailer the other day, before we got distracted with this whole Hurricane thing. I need to get that checked/repaired before I can bring my rig anywhere!

What an awesome initiative. Texas thanks you guys. As horrible as the hurricane has been, it's been great to see the community come together, and our first responders did such a fantastic job. I hope the national media gave them the same coverage as the local media. The Houston PD, Houston FD, Coast Guard, National Guard, and the Cajun navy to name just a few of the organizations. Countless sheriffs, deputies, and public safety offices to be included.

I chipped in what I could for disaster relief, I just wish it could have been more. My heart goes out to all the people that were affected by this devastating storm.

Every dollar counts! They say $1 = 1 meal so every donation counts

There are quite a few members that have posted they are in and around the Houston area, Galveston, and all parts in between. I am adding this to my FB account as well. My family all live in Houston, and parts of my wife's are there too. Not sure when but I know I am going to be headed down at some time to help with cleanup and rebuilding. Looks like I might be taking a pit along with me.

Donation made. I truly wish I could go back to my home state and volunteer again with OBR. Unfortunately, things at work (and home) won't let me get that far away. Our continued prayers are with all those that are impacted by Harvey.

Huskee, Stan Hays, I just read Stan Hay's Meals Served Log in the Houston - Victoria areas! Of Particular Interest were the Number of Meals daily they were Serving to Coast Guard Members❗️ Eunice has a 1st Cousin with a Son who lives in Pensacola FL, Derick Thorsrud, and Flies Helicopter for the Coast Guard and I Believe He Is a Commander❓ We were at a Family Picnic in Hillsboro ND, 13 July 2017, and had the opportunity to meet Derick's Wife and Son for the First Time! He used to Give Us a Hand with Snow Removal while he was in college (Architecture)!

Makes me wonder what the vegans think, or if they reconsider their choices when they're in need. Glad I can eat whatever, in case OBR ever helps me!
