You've likely noticed over the last couple weeks we've been rearranging our channels quite a bit to help make things more succinct and easier to find, Meathead has made a few announcements about it. Our recent survey results indicated many of you felt this was needed, so wer'e trying to do what you said needed done.
In the process of ultimately making things "easier" some channels got consolidated/combined, or some were separated out, which then makes it NOT easier (at first) because things aren't where you remember. Please bear with us, we'll keep you posted to the bigger moves as we make them. Hence this post.
LOTS OF PEOPLE wanted easier access to recipes. Well, in the forum here the only recipes we have are submitted by YOU (and me). So how do we find the relatively few recipes among thousands of topics of plain ol' food discussion? We have 6+ yrs worth of topics, and only a handful are actual recipes.
So we made an effort to do what many of you wanted. You've likely noticed the new Recipes Only channel, and in that channel were all of our previous food sub-channels (beef, pork, beans, tacos, etc). 99% of what we all talk about isn't an actual recipe, but more general technique or other food discussion like wrapping ribs, how long do I brine?, what's your favorite commercial rub?, etc. So we asked you to put those type of posts in the Technique And Everything Else Food channel. The problem was that channel didn't have any of the food sub-channels.
So we read lots of "where do I put this?!?!"
And you're right, it was confusing!
So, I've moved all of our existing food sub-channels to the Technique And Everything Else Food channel.
TLDR: We fixed the ailing Recipes vs Technique channels, now you have a place to post you food topics once again!
11/28/2020 UPDATE All Recipes Only sub-channels should be in place now.
We'll also scout for existing recipes that got moved to Technique, and get them moved back to Recipes Only as we find them. You can help too by mentioning me if you find a straggler in there. If you know you've submitted a recipe, please find it and mention me in it, or copy the urls and PM them to me, and I'll move 'em.
Thank you for your patience as we get these changes in place!

- If you have a recipe to share, please post it in the Recipes Only channel into the sub-channel that fits.
- ALSO please add a tag of "recipe" to your actual recipe posts. This will help too, trust me.
- Added a RECIPE TEMPLATE in the top READ ME FIRST post in the Recipes Only channel. Please go there and copy & paste the template when posting your recipes. This will hopefully make it a bit easier for you and be a good reminder of what to include.
- For general food talk or technique (wrapping ribs, how long do I brine?, what's your favorite commercial rub?) please use the now fully-stocked Technique, Discussion And Everything Else Food channel.
We'll also scout for existing recipes that got moved to Technique, and get them moved back to Recipes Only as we find them. You can help too by mentioning me if you find a straggler in there.
