Also, for those of us that pre-ordered: a refund of the difference that we paid and $149!

Sous Vide cooking is here to stay!!! Many professional kitchens are using it to reduce labor costs and to speed up serving times. It's not just a fad.

Look how Ernest has reduced his meal expense while traveling and improved his quality of food while on the road.

For us backyard Pit Masters it is a great tool for putting food on your guests plates at the time you promised. Sous Vide a whole beef tenderloin or 2 for a large crowd. Take it out of the SV bags, portion it into filet's and sear them on the flat side of your GrillGrates. That allows lots of time to socialize with your guests and gives you a chance to put on a display of your fine cooking skills.

Poached eggs? Fish? Veggies? Hollandaise/Bernaise sauce? Yogurt? Creme Brûlée?

A Sous Vide circulator will be like the microwave is... EVERY kitchen will have one someday. They're especially good for those that have babies. The freshest most healthy baby food you can possibly cook.👍

And I got an email that said since I had already pre ordered at $199 ($205), they were honoring the $149 offer for me as well. Yay!

I'm in. I managed to gift my Nomiku original to someone (I've never liked it as much as my SVS Demi, which isn't getting much use now because of the Nom Wifi). And I do want to have two. So, I could get this, and then part with my SVS Demi to a loving home (like my dad), maybe. Yep. MCS SV Edition is live.

I won't hold it against you. Nom WiFi does some neat app tricks, but is still good without the wifi (a quantum improvement over the original Nom, which was nice at the time). I suspect that Joule 2.0 (should it go there), will have a manual dial at the top for peameal bacon boys like you.

Just so you know... SV circulator's are like smokers and grills. Few people have just 1. You need one for red meat. Then you need one for chicken. Then you need one for veggies. Al running at the same time at different temps.😎

Well I just saw a video that said the Joule will go on sale for $149.00 on Aug 9th 2016. They are temporally making it the Cheapest one on the market so everybody can have one (Although the Gourmia GSV130 Digital Sous Vide [Wand type] and the Gourmia GSV-550 9 Quart Sous Vide Water oven are both 129.00) I want to buy one but will admit that drop in Price scares me a little, Are they just trying to get rid of their inventory, before word gets out?? Dang I'm so jaded

My guess is they are buying market share. Pricing is a great tool for introducing a new product to the market place. The Anova, a much bigger item goes on sale for $129 once in a while.

(Dang I hate when that happens) I used the Link provided by Meathead above (hoping this site gets a little love in return) So I should be getting it sometime this fall!?!? When is fall isn't it like the end of Sept? (Sept 22 this year) So got a little waiting to do...

Breadhead flood the market, allow the market to "market" the item. I've seen a certain archery company raise the price of their compound bows 33% to compensate for the new advertising budget. Ouch!

I placed my order at around 11:15 Central (15 minutes after the sale opened 9 Pacific).

They said they're shipping them in the order they get the orders... so maybe ten minutes before yours. Of course, maybe a day or two depending on where they ship from.

I already have 2 Anovas - one first gen with the fixed pot clamp and one of the new wifi/bluetooth models. I highly doubt I would get "approval" for a 3rd SV stick any time soon.

Well I was pretty exited when I saw that the pre-order price was dropping to $149.00 USD. Signed up and then when I received the email this morning you have to live in the US to take advantage of the offer. So now i either wait to see if AR will get a members discount or order the Anova instead. Will wait a bit before i decide. So if you live in Canada you can't get the good deal on the Joule and your not eligible for the AR giveaways either. Oh well live goes on.

They have to get it certified by different rating agencies, and tweak the motor for different voltages and amperages. And, a new custom plug for the several dozen non-'Murican plugs.

Certification certainly, but the plugs and amperages are the same up here in Canada as in the US
