I have a Charbroil gas grill, Big Easy, Large gas smoker and small electric smoker, GMG Davy Crockett pellet grill. I also have a 160L Cabelas dehydrator which I use for beef jerky.
Got mine today. Excited to use it! A great complement to the SnS. Only thing even remotely a concern is that some of the edges are pretty sharp. Just be careful when handling it.
Well heck this too has been added to the Christmas list... along with the new Thermoworks Smoke... and the Fenix Cast Iron that Spinaker was talking about....
Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.
Grills: 22" Weber (wood handles) (another Weber on the way), Lodge Sportsman "hibachi" Smoker: None yet, part of why I joined Thermometer: 10+ yr old Taylor digital thermometer with remote Sous Vide: Anovo Imersion Circulator (1st gen) Coffee Roaster: Hot Top Coffee Roaster Adult Beverages: Fighting Cock Bourbon, Leinny Shandy, Troegs Mad Elf
Oh, no. I had BF interested in the Ballistic Griddle and I was going to get it for him for Christmas (and then "borrow" it). Now I see ABC has one as well. AND it's designed to go with the SnS. So now the debate is, do I get both now and take off the SnS from my wish list or can I send back the SnS if I get one for Christmas. I know, I know, I could give BF both and then "borrow" as needed ...
Sorry to bring back an older thread. I just got my DnG in yesterday and I'm hoping to use it over the weekend for diner burgers.
A question on setup when using as a griddle - since receiving my SnS, I've never used charcoal on the other part of the charcoal grate. But it seems like it would work well to spread the coals out on this part and have none in the SnS, so the heat is under the entire griddle. Has anyone tried this? Do you still just need half a chimney of coals, or more because they are a little further from the pan and more spread spread out?
PBCDad - I've not tried that, but I'd be concerned about the charcoal not being close enough to the DnG. If you use the SnS, you can use enough charcoal to get them as close as you would like.
Just to add to the other mentions, get the custom grill grates for the SNS while you're at it for the complete Weber upgrade. Best reverse seared steaks I've ever made.

PBCDad , I don't remember what thread it was on, but there has been some discussion about not getting the griddle too hot or it can warp. not a problem on a taser, but potentially an issue over coals, especially directly over a SnS. You should be good to go over coals in the portion of the grill where your DnG normally sets to catch drips & your DnG setting up on your grill grates.
Yeah that was in response to my question on a different thread, I think the reason is to prevent scorching. I used almost a full chimney, spread them out, it worked great! The burgers were a big hit. Temps were just right
