Spider Grills launching a Kettle cart for the 26"

I bought a Spider Grills cart for my 22 and I absolutely love it. I can move the Kettle with one finger on the top handle. It rolls around so easily. I've already ordered the cart for the 26 " .

I'm constantly rearranging my patio, depending upon what cooker I'm gonna use. And if storms are predicted for over night, I'm moving both Kettles deep under the patio cover. These carts will make this much easier.

And the 26 is top heavy now. Its wobbly on the Weber legs. Then I bought a Hunzicker cooking grate, and that thing adds a lot of weight, its a big heavy grate. So I'm anxious to get this new cart, which will ship mid July.

This is something Weber could've done long ago. In some Weber Kettle forums on Reddit, I've seen some find a Kamado Joe cart and they were able to modify it for the 26. But those are rare, they usually occur because someone has built a table for their Joe.

Its not cheap, neither was the one for the 22, but Spider Grills has a limited scale for these, I'm sure. There won't be the volume to cover a lot of their cost. A pic of my Kettle with the Spider legs. One of the best Kettle accessories I've bought.

Mr. Flavorsmith of YouTube has added Spider Grills accessories to his Weber Kettle. He is a big fan of both kettles. Spider Grills has many of their accessories for the Weber Kettle.

If I was going to buy a kettle, I would get the Spider Grills Huntsman and most likely their Giant version just because of it's 26 inch size.

I would strongly consider going that way also, if I was not already invested in Weber Kettles.

On the Reddit Weber Kettle forums, there's a many who say a 26 Kettle and the Spider Grills Venom is the ultimate set up.

I put a Billows on my 26. I'm happy with that.

I will definitely be buying this for my 26. Thanks for sharing.

I've been eyeing this for my 26" kettle for a few months now and signed up for the email to let me know it's available. This and the Venom I already installed should be a great combo.

I asked Spider Grills customer service if there would be any necessary mods, like on the 22. They said .........

I just inquired about this again and was informed the designed was modified so that the Weber Vent ring will fit with the kettle cart now, so no modifications or additional vent rings will be needed.
I tried to modify the vent ring on my 22 and got carried away with my angle grinder. Ended up ordering a vent ring from Spider Grills.

I hoping the Huntsman Lift Kit won't be needed. I put a lift kit on the 22 .

I probably am misunderstanding, but if i buy a cart for my 22, i will have to make a mod?

I absolutely can't wait till Spider Grills ships the cart for the 26. Maybe a couple more weeks. The cart on my 22 is great.

I included the Lift Kit with my order, but from the looks of that, I don't need it.

Oh man….I had no idea there were carts like this. Hmmmmm…I don’t have the 26, but for the 22 I think I may be purchasing a cart!

Lynn Dollar can you discuss the mods you had to make for the 22? I can go look, but I guess that will determine if I get the cart or not.

Depends upon how old your Kettle is. If you have one without the ash can/sweeper blades and it just has a pan between the legs, then no mod is needed.

There's a small problem with the vent ring on Kettles with the ash pan. The factory legs extend through the top of vent ring. And the opening is not wide enough for Spider legs. The opening has to be widened a small amount.

Some have done it with a file or a grinder. I tried with an angle grinder using a cut off wheel, got carried away and ruined it. It should not be as hard as I made it, I was just trying too hard to make it perfect. I did not quit when I was ahead.

Or Spider Grills sells a vent ring for $45 . That's where I ended up.

Also, these legs will lower the 22" about 3" . They sell a Lift Kit that will raise the Kettle to standard height. I'm not sure that's necessary. And with your Smart Ring on the Kettle, I've no doubt its not necessary.

Tom Horsman does the leg mod in this vid, would be nice to have the tool he used ...........

I like Horsman's commitment to the cooking hobby, but sometimes he makes what should be simple mods more complicated.....and sometimes he does unnecessary mods. That ring in soft aluminum, and not all that thick. Instead of that sanding doo-dad you could use a pair of tin snips to widen the gap. Same thing for the larger casters. If he'd looked more thoroughly on Amazon he could have bought the same thread size in the 5" eliminating the need to drill out the hole.

This! Tin snips for the win.

I got that also. Every time I move the 26, it makes me want these legs and casters even more.

No way could I have an outdoor kitchen, where everything is permanently in place. My patio is a chinese fire drill.

I have an offset smoker, a cabinet gravity feed, two kettles, a griddle, a PBX , and an 18 WSM that I keep for sentimental reasons ( I bought it in 2002 and basically learned bbq on it ). I also have a prep table I move from smoker to smoker.

I have a covered patio. I can move the kettles out from under the cover to cook, which I do if the weather allows. But I keep them stowed under the cover in case of night time storms, which are common.

The kettles get more use than the others and it seems I'm constantly moving them around. TBH, I was surprised what a diff the Spider Legs made on the 22 kettle. My wife moved the 22 the other day and commented how easy it was.

And maneuvering the 26 can be like backing a trailer. Never dreamed I'd get so amped up over this improvement.

Lynn Dollar Thanks for bringing the availability of this option to the board’s attention, I wasn’t aware of it. Didn’t take long to push the button. Like you, can’t wait for it to get here, feels like getting a whole new grill! There’s something about cooking on a wobbly grill that just takes some of the fun out.

Jessterr I'm impressed with Spider Grills. They've got other Kettle accessories and I'm now interested in their Huntsman grills. Even if I've no idea where I'd put it .

Just ordered the cart for my 22”. While getting the kettle in place to cook tonight, I almost dumped it over…got lucky catching the lid and keeping it in place while holding on to the lower portion handle as it was parallel to the ground…that was all I needed to make the purchase after talking about the cart with my wife yesterday!

see when this arrives, like the 26” this is an early August arrival.

Great purchase. If I moved my kettle around, I would certainly get this cart.
