Part one of my knife replacements

So after asking for some help and suggestions i got to looking at buying some good knives for a change. After reading everyones post what caught my attention was Danjohnston949 post about his Dalstrong knife. Looking it up i found i really liked the looks and quality of what i could see. I sent dan a pm the other night just to confirm how much he liked his, his replies sold me and as he told me i would not be disappointed in buying these. These exceed everything i was hoping for and pictures do not do them justice. Enough rambling here are my first two a 7 inch Santoku and a 6 inch boning knife. Click image for larger version

Very nice looking! They look like they have an almost mirror finish on the blade. Just curious what did they set you back?? I'm always looking to up my own game. My J.A. henckels (S) series were great but they are also about 16yrs old and without sharpening them which I now do. They are just OK. A few new ones could always be nice.

Ouch. But considering when I got my set I think it was about $6-700.00. So those 2 knives (2 of the most important ones I think) is not a bad deal. Good luck with them.

Awh come on now that puppy on ebay is going for a whopping $2.49. I know you can reach deep down and splurge for it. Just think how impressive that will look next to those other 2 beauties.

Steve B then i would have to buy a jar of mayo and would have no use for it

Very nice! I still don't have an expensive/good knife set. My electric knife sharpener is my friend but I don't pull it out enough and its function is to make subpar knives functional. Post photos of your cuts with them.

I have expensive knives. They are great to have and they look cool, but cheap knives are okay too, as long as you don't mind replacing them.
