Has anyone tried these lately ? I remember reading back in early winter time, they were still testing and results were not so good. Have they got the bug's out yet?

Lots of discussion on the Meater. Remains to be seen if they can 'get the bugs out'. Most are not optimistic about it, I'm trying to be.

Here is what some not-so-satisfied customers have to say;
Blue Tooth Issues
ByDanielle Lavalleeon June 29, 2018
On the third cook the Meater would not link up to blue tooth. I contacted the company and engaged in a long email thread that went no where. They have not requested me to send it back.
So disappointed

I found this through a kickstarter program and it sounded great, almost too good to be true. Sadly after waiting almost a year after my investment I found out it was too good to be true!
I will say that as a thermometer it works and seems to be spot on, as long as you are right next to the unit, but step more than 10 feet away and it loses the connection. Once you lose the connection you have to go back, reconnect and stay right there to get a reading.
I contacted there customer service and while they agreed it should have a better range, but basically blew me off and suggested I "find a smart device and leave it next to the smoker and create a WiFi bridge" to improve the range.
So, I would not recommend this, seemed like a good idea but needs work. Looking online now and see through other reviews this seems to be a common issue, so buyer beware.
Almost have to be on top of it for it to work

No distance, cannot be used remotely as is the only purpose for it others just use an instant thermometer.

The limited distance is no surprise. It is a Bluetooth device, after all. Range extension is easy as long as you’re willing to leave a WiFi connected Bluetooth receiver (which is all the Block is) nearby. I put my smart phone or iPAd on my screened in porch above my grills as receiver, have zero issues, and then monitor the cook on another device via MEATER Link.
Don’t care for the company, but the device works for meat temps. Only way to fly for Rotisserie.
