Well, I was out on a final part of a doe only hunt last weekend & had brought along my wok oven with a set of grill grates so I could stir some vegs & grill some SRF burgers. My buddy, who doesn’t know it, booby trapped my oven in packing our gear in Sue, my Subaru. Opened the hatch & the response was "it’s all in pieces". I immediately ordered a new baby from The Wok Shop. Got it this morning. It’s a little different. Will be breaking it in tomorrow.

For me its the Smobot for my Primo XL.....What an absolutely fantastic device.......The Komodo's are great at holding temp anyway, but with this thing it's almost too easy

I too have a Kamado and had a flameboss, Smobot works great too. Set it and forget it. Pick any descriptor you want, they work great. And 2 meat probes is nice.
I think maybe I need to build a hotter fire before I put the cap on. Otherwise it just seems to take a long time getting going. Love it though. I have a battery pack that works great to run it, but too "smart" and shuts off due to low power draw. Oh well.
Happy cooking.

Well I spoke too soon earlier, as 2019 isn't over yet. I picked up a Blackstone griddle today thanks to ColonialDawg who posted that WM had them at a good price. So check griddle off my list, hopefully 2020 will bring the Santa Maria.

Man, I had the wife talked into a SteakAger and talked myself out of it...all I had to do was go 3 weeks without buying anything else. The problem was it was old stock of their Master Series and i’ve read that the company has completely changed (maybe new owners or partners) and the new Pro series is much better. I feel like a fool, but man I hate to throw $500 away when $900 would last. Supposedly the old SteakAgers were a gamble, if you got a good one you loved it, but maybe even the majority were bad/problematic. I can’t imagine new owners supporting crappy old models. Especially, when bought on eBay.

@glitchey I have read that about them as well. Seems like to much of a gamble with the investment you would end up putting inside them. If you end up with something, keep us posted. I am a long ways off on considering something like that, but. some good feedback ahead of time would be nice to steer the thoughts.

I did find out that the models eBay were supposed the be scrapped. When they rebuilt the company I guess they sold them to scrappers. I’ve been following their Facebook group some, but haven’t done anything yet. I really like the Steak Locker better, but man that’s pricey. I know it would pay for itself over time per say, but not sure I’m ready to take the leap quite yet.
