    Makin Bacon Microwave Dish Review

In my ongoing quest to get crispy bacon at home where I don’t make 95% of it, I can report a success. This thread is probably the third or fourth thread I have started on this topic. Possibly indicative of how important this topic is this household where we have 4 bacon eater and the primary bacon cook doesn’t eat any.

Earlier, we discussed different ways of making bacon in the oven without generating smoke and setting off the fire alarm while the exchange student has a migraine.

I can also report the tin foil, wire rack, and a thin layer of water successfully cooks bacon in the oven with no smoke. However, I am not sure if that suggestion was greeted with enthusiasm.

Enter the Makin Bacon microwave dish. For the bacon we buy, we had to cut it in half and do two batches, which took about 10-12 minutes to do a full pound.

The Original Makin Bacon Microwave Bacon Dish - Makes Crispy Bacon in Minutes - Simple, Quick, and Easy to Use - Reduces Fat Content for a Healthier Meal - Molded in The USA https://a.co/d/3KAOHHX

As you can see, the results were spectacular. This has the seal of approval from 4 rabid bacon eaters and one non-bacon eating cook. I have also been advised that the kids can now make their own bacon, another plus.

Next up, I am sure we can try it with my homemade bacon which will be done later this week. No issues there right ecowper ?

My go to is the pellet grill... outdoor convection oven, no worries about mess, does a whole pack at a time.

My wife likes to nuke it still a few seconds for extra crisp.... but I find it perfect.

That thing make the interior of the nuker an oil field?

I was told the tray collected it all and no mess.

I don’t see why your homemade bacon would be an issue with the Making Bacon microwave doohickey.

Cold oven, wire rack over cookie sheet, no water. Set to preheat to 400°. Once it gets to 400° start checking often. I do this with no smoke.

Carolyn it's not filthy, it's just seasoned, like a black iron skillet. That's what I say at least.

Ah, that is the ticket. It is well-seasoned.👍

Way ahead of you there. I have plans to make 10 pound batches of homemade bacon using Costco pork bellies.

Whatever works. And the option of the kids being able to make their own cooked bacon on it is a real winner.

Does it splatter bacon grease all over the inside of your microwave? Just curious.

        K.

Nope. My wife put down paper towels in the grease tray and then dumped them in the garbage when done. Easy peasy.

Hey, whatever it takes right!? 🤣

I make the bacon in my Pit Barrel.
I also make bacon while cooking my chicken in the Barrel. Delicious bacon and chicken.

Takes a bit to setup. Skewers go thru each piece n keeps the bacon up high. Makes all the rendered collectible. Click image for larger version

Guess I'll throw my hat into the ring here as well. I think there as many microwave bacon makers out there as there are Carter's pills !! About 10 years ago or so I was looking for one and happen upon this one at Wally World. I think it was all of about $8 at the time. This thing is a workhorse, makes perfectly crispy bacon (which I like as well) and is relatively easy to clean. Dump the bacon grease into your reservoir, give it a quick wipe and throw it into the dish washer.
