Gloves at least prevent all that sludgy buildup on your hands so washing after trimming meat is super easy....but yes, ALWAYS wash after removing gloves. Wearing them can be a false sense of security if there's the tiniest pinhole big enough for one bacterium or virus to get in...then you scratch your nose, feed your baby, etc. In most if not all healthcare establishments it's protocol that workers must wash when doffing (removing) gloves- alcohol sanitizer is acceptable unless your hands are visibly soiled.
Great hearing about the Arteflame. This cooker/cooktop really intrigues me.
Hi, my name is Darrell. I'm an OTR truck driver for over 25 years. During my off time I love doing backyard cooks. I have a 48" Lang Deluxe smoker, Rec-Tec pellet smoker,1 Weber Genesis 330, 1 Weber Performer (blue), 2 Weber kettles (1 black and 1 Copper), 1 26" Weber kettle, a WSM, 8 Maverick Redi Chek thermometers, a PartyQ, 2 SnS, Grill Grates, Cast Iron grates, 1 ThermoPop (orange) and 2 ThermoPens (pink and orange) and planning on adding more cooking accessories. Now I have an Anova sous vide, the Dragon blower and 2 Chef alarms from Thermoworks.
Thanks Greg for the interview with Arteflame. WOW....1/4" carbon steel...that's the same thickest as my Lang. Can't wait to try the Arteflame 26" insert out.
I also wash my hands after taking the gloves off just a habit I gotten myself into.
I agree with Huskee & DW... I typically wash my hands or use sanitizer after taking gloves off... I'm the most paranoid about it when it comes to raw chicken... I'm also using the gloves to create a barrier for all the gunk (rubs, sauces, marinades, etc...) as much as I am bacterium and such...
I'm interested to see what happens to the price of the Arteflame after they start mass production.... he mentioned a change but didn't say how much or which directions.
That was my thoughts... BBQCentralShow , I missed it though... were they going mass production on the 40" one, the kettle inserts, or all of the above?
