Team Cook Extra Credit - Biscuits

Ok, y’all….. I’m calling an audible! With all this fantastic talk about biscuits and skillz (and lack thereof, ask me how I know)…. I’m throwing in some extra credit. Make biscuits! Use whatever recipe you want….. use whatever flour you want….. use whatever fat you want. Same reveal as the Denver Omelette!

    love and biscuits,

    BD

Actually I don't like biscuits at all so this will put me out of the money. The omelet is good to go though.

Hah! I am currently checking for a recipe for biscuits as I’m making biscuits and gravy for my Men’s group for church this morning! Great timing!

Great idea but I'll pass. Not a real fan of them. I'm baking a rye bread today, does that count?

RichieB Glad I'm not the only one, thought I'd be getting heat.

I am doing a CI pan of corn bread right now, though I surely can not wait for Kim to bring home the green pepper and a quart of buttermilk. I usually just do the lemon juice or ACV,
for the Denver n a pan of biscuits I am going all out. ;-)

Perfect. Am sorely lacking in biscuit experience or skill.

Re omelette cooking heat, we like the browned eggs from higher heat.

I do too and luckily I pulled mine a bit early and it was as browned just enough.

Get out of my head. I was considering recommending a biscuit challenge. I suck at making biscuits.

Carolyn it’s very sticky… sweet…. Not maple. It just wasn’t for me. Think of honey, but half the sweetness. Maybe even more than half.

Kent Rollins recipe this morning. Perfect, and I'm no biscuit expert.

In order to perfect your biscuit cooks, it is highly recommended to play this song at high volume levels during the cooking process…..

I did biscuits for dinner tonight. Not as good or neat as my wife can make because she was taught by my grandmothers, but we had no problems wolfing them down.

Mine were nicely browned on top, fluffy and light in the middle, and not burned on the bottom. But, they were somewhat crumbly. Not being a baker, I will appreciate some ideas to reduce crumbliness. That may not be a word, but you know what I mean.

Used the Kent Rollins recipe posted above.
Per the video, will try a little more bacon grease or butter.
