On Kathy’s incidence I made this dish tonight but will wait to reveal on the weekend of the 28th. However I want to say as someone who is not a real fan of pasta dishes that this one is outstanding and worth a download, adding to your recipe book, and cooking very soon even if not joining the team cook reveal. Thank you SheilaAnn for finding and posting this recipe. 🙂

SheilaAnn Thanks for setting the record straight, but if John suggested it it was probably one of his girlfriends who had the idea. I’m betting on Marie but it could have been Halle. 🙂

We cooked this dish for our Granddaughter’s “Gotch’a” Day. She’s adopted so it is her special day and she has always been adventuresome when it comes to food. When she was eight years old she ordered charbroiled oysters. She really likes shrimp and sausage.

Here is a note for cooks. I cut the cayenne into a third and the second Creole seasoning I used the smaller amount. It was still plenty spicy. One test for me is do I break a sweat just a little or a lot. This was somewhere in between. Make your adjustments accordingly. The crushed tomatoes in then recipe made it more Creole like than Cajun to me. Enjoy! It is well worth the effort.

My takeaway is Gotcha Day. I love that so much! One of my dear friends just adopted and brought home Olivia Rose on the 10th. She was born on the 8th of February. 💕💕💕

May all of your granddaughter's Gotcha Day wishes come true as quickly and perfectly as your dinner for her did.

SheilaAnn, you might consider Mexican chorizo, which I assume you have ample access to.

Panhead John and yakima I can find andouille. Just with all bragging Panhead John does about what he can source, I’m intrigued. And I bet it’s better than what I can get. We made it at my old job and it was pretty darn good.

I’ll be in on this one too. We’ve been crazy busy lately but I told my wife about it and she’s all for it…. me making it that is.

I'll have to give these both a try...hopefully gluten-free pasta doesn't wreck it! I'll try chickpea pasta.

I'll be making this tomorrow. Today I bought some smoked andouille at the local grocery store. I really like their andouille (not as good as Best Stop's in Louisiana though but I'm out). The recipe says to garnish with parsley or any herb that you like so I'm going to use some green onions with the parsley.

Well I’m done for. The homemade fettuccine I used won’t stand a chance against a dish with machine made rotini unless we are being judged under Top Chef rules.😉

              Homemade? Show off...

I though about doing that but honestly I was feeling lazy and went with store bought.

Do the instructions say just add shrimp and sausage and don’t forget to remove the chicken? LOL

The last of the ingredients bought today, sausage and ready. Laid out all the non-perishable stuff. There's a lot of ingredients in this. Tomorrow is the planned cooking day. Note: I keep onion powder in the refrigerator to reduce clumping.

I love those spray jars too. Two of them at each domicile--home and apartment. Too handy not to have.

I'm in shock, went to the local City Market for a few things and found Andouille saussage. Guaranteed not the best but at least it's similar. They usually have nothing more than the most common of food items except potato chips and tater tots. Don't even ask how many varieties of each, I don't get it.

Wow! Just seeing this one, and it looks AMAZING. Too bad that my wife does not like pasta. She SAYS she likes it, but thinks that it is too fattening, so she never eats it.

I will probably cook this Friday. I don't have the fettucine, but can pick that up quick. I don't know if I have andouille, but I have a bin of sausages in my garage freezer. Most from Wild Fork, but not all, and surely something will work. I will finagle it.

My favorite andouille came from The Best Stop in Scott, La., next to Lafayette. I was happy to find out they opened a franchise location last year in Katy, about 20 minutes away….
