texastweeter I ended up using the ATK foolproof single crust recipe. Like I mentioned, the crust itself was delicious. It was just the rest of the pie that didn’t go well. And I’ll be darned that I do have butter-crisco in the fridge.

Try that butter crisco. I use it in biscuits ad pie crusts often. Somehow it taste more like butter than butter.

As I recall the only rule for the monthly Team Cook was to make a homemade crust. Well this is a Crustless Coconut Pie. It's a Betty Crocker Recipe made with Bisquick. I even used some Gluten Free Bisquick that we had on hand and wanted to use up. It tasted pretty good and I will make it again. Sorry SheilaAnn I'm kind of a Rule Breaker.

Used the other half of the crust I made this week - made a galette with fresh berries at the lake house. This batch of crust dough I made was just dry, had a heck of a time with this one tonight, but made it work. Will enjoy this with a sipper

I bet y'all didn't think I'd make it for this cook.

Shoo Fly Pie with homemade crust (bulk recipe that I keep frozen).

Sorry, no apple pan dowdy (IYKYK)

I'm late! But this is worth it. It makes its own crust.

          Custard Pie

          2 cups milk
          3 eggs
          1/3 cup sugar
          1 tsp vanilla
          pinch of salt
          1/4 cup of flour

Put everything in food processor or blender, whir it up. Put in frig for at least 3 hours. Pour into a buttered Pyrex pie pan. I added golden raisins that are soaked in cognac. Any dried fruit soaked in liquor is good! Grate nutmeg on the top. Bake at 350 for about an hour. This is good at room temp or cold.

I call it custard pie. It came from Bon Appetit's Far Breton, but I cut back on the sugar, butter and flour. BA used prunes instead of raisins.

This past weekend I picked up a red Emile Henry scalloped pie dish. Apple pie, using Cosmic Crisp apples, is on the agenda.

yakima I saw these (cosmic) apples at a grocery store I don’t usually frequent. I grabbed two. I will probably make a galette Sunday.
