Oh boy…. Who the heck said they wanted to do pie crust from scratch to help them get better? (Dumb a$$).
in stages…. Frozen butter in the flour mixture
Shaped and getting ready to rest
blind baked
final mess. I overwhipped the cream, it was practically butter.
but I will say, the crust was delicious.

texastweeter I ended up using the ATK foolproof single crust recipe. Like I mentioned, the crust itself was delicious. It was just the rest of the pie that didn’t go well. And I’ll be darned that I do have butter-crisco in the fridge.

Try that butter crisco. I use it in biscuits ad pie crusts often. Somehow it taste more like butter than butter.

As I recall the only rule for the monthly Team Cook was to make a homemade crust. Well this is a Crustless Coconut Pie. It's a Betty Crocker Recipe made with Bisquick. I even used some Gluten Free Bisquick that we had on hand and wanted to use up. It tasted pretty good and I will make it again. Sorry SheilaAnn I'm kind of a Rule Breaker.

I'm late! But this is worth it. It makes its own crust.
Custard Pie
2 cups milk
3 eggs
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
pinch of salt
1/4 cup of flour
Put everything in food processor or blender, whir it up. Put in frig for at least 3 hours. Pour into a buttered Pyrex pie pan. I added golden raisins that are soaked in cognac. Any dried fruit soaked in liquor is good! Grate nutmeg on the top. Bake at 350 for about an hour. This is good at room temp or cold.
