List Channels and Topics Alphabetically

Especially with the new layout, why not list Channels and topics within Channels alphabetically? Would eliminate a lot of scrolling!

Most topics (channels) within topics (main headings) are alphabetical or chronological, except the food channel so far, maybe another. Work in progress!

I don't know what's possible on the coding side but I was thinking the number of posts/responses. Kind of like the recent posts page.

That would/could change consistently with the seasons, eg. more corned beef around st. patties, more turkey around Thanksgiving, etc...

The built in sort is by latest. To the lasted posts and responses show first.

However, you can effect the sorting via the Filter drop list, here:

Attjack are you referring to the post results in Recent Posts and such? I thought you were referring to the structure of the channels on the Channels page. Posts results are always customizable by your preference.

Attjack Gotcha, that's what I thought. Don't think it's possible. Currently the order of these has been thought to be the most beneficial to newbies. First time visitors who wnated to explore and learn their way around might benefit best from the current order. But maybe not. Work in progress.

What we eventually want to do is make the current "Channels" page more of a Table Of Contents (TOC). Have it be just the main headings. No other channels cluttering that page up, ie. no scrolling on that page. Then when you click any heading it takes you to *that* channel assortment, like it currently does when you click a heading. That would eliminate ALL Channels being in your face all the time, and thus behave more like a TOC. We're trying to make it simpler.

The TOC approach makes sense to me. Just make each Channel assortment alphabetical and you're home free!! (A little tongue-in-cheek, but I need another vote for my suggestion!)
