Got this Lifelock alert sorry I can't get it to paste any better.
This email is from the LifeLock Member Services Team. We detected identity information which may belong to you on the Dark Web, a term used which may also include the deep web or a peer-to-peer file sharing network.
Potentially Impacted Website:
disqus.com
When we detect identity information on the dark web, deep web, or peer-to-peer file sharing networks, we notify you. The information found is usually from a list that's being given away, traded, or sold. The list could be old, so it's important to see whether or not the information on it is out of date.
The ID theft protection firm LifeLock is certainly one of the big winners from the big data breach suffered by Equifax, which exposed the personal information of 143 million Americans to hackers.
Are you a member of that website? disqus.com? If so, change your password. Honestly, I'll bet everyone's stuff is on the Dark Web after all the Efax hack.
Yes, after that I blocked credit inquiries to all three - easy to do and free. As I am older this is not a big deal since I'm not sure how many times more I even apply for anything that needs a credit report and its easy to unblock. Changing password is certainly required and I guess if most of we did not have so many we'd do it more often.
Where we connect with Disqus when our posts or comments are "complied" into to a sort of best of discussion(s) and we (or at least I have often) get a summary of the discussions in an email. Widespread tool, not just, but used by Amazingribs
