unable to sign up on the Website for the newsletter despite several tries. I get a web-generated error message each time. It seems my use of the hyphen (which is legit) in the email address causes the error message to be generated - as best I can tell. I was obviously able to use this same email address for the Pitmaster trial period.

Hyphens are allowed in the username and domain parts of the email address. So, [email protected] is allowed. The only restriction is that the hyphen cannot be at the start or end of the username or domain (-user@ user-@ @-example.com @example-.com) are all invalid.
However, the newsletter is controlled by constant contact and they might have some (incorrect) validation system. Or the submission form might be the culprit.
I need to know exactly where you are trying to subscribe. On the main site? Which page? On Pitmaster? Which page. Or via a subscribe link to the newsletter itself? What link?
And the error message would also help a lot.
