Significant Site Loading Slowdowns

Well, time for a long diatribe on AI.

I have not seen any loading issues on the server. Nor any uptime alerts or any of my one logging and testing system report any issues. Uptime checks are fine. The hosting fine, the server is fine, the forum software is fine. So what gives?

The following is my opinion and it is based on the fact that more that one of the servers that I manage is having the same issue. No issues with the hosting, server, or software.

I have no direct evidence of this, but I think it is the internet itself. Thanks to the deluge of AI bots begin created that try to inhale the entire web in a week in order to train (re-train) the models. So they ruthlessly hammer the crap out of every server on the planet and clog up the bandwidth for everyone.

Just guessing....

Anyway, I will do my due diligence and double check the Pitmaster server. See if there are, in fact, any issues that need correcting.

That and a couple countries have a vested interest in slowing things down for those of us in "the West" I think it's a combination of the two things. Not a straight up DDoS but servers are getting hammered

For me, the site is running a lot faster today compared to the last week. No complaints today...

We're seeing this at the University. We have huge inbound pipe and it takes a lot of even begin to bog that down. Between the "normal" DDoS traffic and all the AI stuff, our edge routers are a bit busy.

(We're also somewhat our own enemy. It seems every computer science masters student is writing an AI bot/model/thingy for their thesis and....as you said....all need to inhale the internet.)

I have been paying attention to other sites as well and noticed an overall slowdown on sites i visit regularly...
