Cannot create PM on iPad

raywjohnson i am trying to create a PM on my iPad. However, I cannot enter a username. Touching the recipient field does not bring up the keypad. Obviously it is working in Posting as this post is being created on the same iPad. ??

GolfGeezer Hey, I just sent you a PM from my iPad hoping it would help figure out what might be going wrong.

Is private messaging enabled?

If you try to enter the username FIRST in a PM, the drop box to type won’t come down. You have to enter the subject line first, or type your message first, then enter recipient’s name. Have you tried this yet?

Yes, I just tried that and it works! I’m glad I’m a retired IT guy so I can get as confused as everyday folks. Thanks John.

You’re welcome Sam! Having said that, I just tried it again and tapped recipient 2-3 times, it did drop down before entering anything else. Weird..🧐

For some reason, I can't reply to a PM.

Have you tried replying to a PM before and were successful, but not now? All you do is type your message in the box at the bottom of the PM, [where it says “Write something”] just like you’d do on the open forum. The box will look the same as in the forum, then just hit the red “Post” tab.

Panhead John Yes, I have sent PMs before. I'll check my settings to see if something was disabled.
I have a message in the inbox, but there is no place to type a message like there usually is. Likely a user issue.

No, I didn't because I didn't see a way to.

I am so tired. I got it figured out. I had to click on the subject to open the conversation, which is odd. Most PMs I have used have a reply right under the message. Also, that last PM didn't go in my 'sent' box. Thanks for helping me try to figure this out.
