Copy and Paste Problem On AR…

A few days ago I noticed a problem trying to copy and paste a link here in Amazing Ribs. If I want to paste a link into a “Post” or “Post Reply” nothing happens, it’s just blank. I CAN copy and paste into “Comment” though, it’s weird. Just to see if maybe it was something on my end, I can copy and paste with no problem into a text or email. I tried this on my IPad Pro, iPad Air and my iPhone 14 Pro….same problem on each of them, it doesn’t work ONLY when I try to copy a link into a Post I’m starting or into a Post Reply. I’ve tried pasting a link into Post or Post Reply at least 10 times on each of my 3 devices…..nothing each time. I’m running Safari and the latest update 17.4.1 Is anyone else having this problem on their Apple devices?

EDIT: It’s only a problem posting links from a post within AR that won’t work.

So far no on a 6th generation iPad Pro running the same iPadOS you have. Just copying links from YouTube, and various comments to a reply. Now, I didn’t actually post the reply to see what happened them. Sorry.

I can copy links from YouTube or other places with no problem, it’s trying to copy a link from “within” Amazing Ribs that won’t work. I should have been more clear.

Testing by using the post number link. Is this what you are talking about?

Ok, it did work using the post number link, 👆thanks. But it’s stopped working the way I usually do it, by tapping and holding the AR website at the top of the page…like this 👇

Okay, duplicated it. Using the hold down drop menu Copy item does not copy. Selecting all the text and then pressing again and bringing up the small Cut, Copy …. bar menu does actually copy. Seems like an Apple menu issue to me.

Also tried it on the Washington Post site. Same thing. Dropdown menu doesn’t copy but tapping on the highlighted text and bringing up the bar menu does copy correctly.

I’m just wondering why it suddenly stopped working like that and it only happens with an AR post that I try to copy within AR. I can copy and paste the way I usually do with a post here, and it works everywhere else….like if I wanted to attach it to an email or text.

All I can say is that this Copy item doesn’t work on other sites either.

but this Copy menu does on AR and other sites does.

I also tried the copy and paste buttons on the Apple keyboard and they worked properly on AR, Washington Post, and several other sites:

Sorry I can’t help more other than report my personal testing, but for me the only problem for me has been the Copy menu item on the dropdown menu. It appears that the dropdown menu is being created by the Safari browser, while the other menu and keyboard buttons are created by the OS.
